About this scholarship

The Amelia Earhart Fellowship, awarded by Zonta International, supports women of any nationality pursuing PhD or doctoral degrees in aerospace-applied science or aerospace engineering — named for the pioneering aviator and longtime Zontian. Each year up to 30 fellowships of US$10,000 are awarded, and the funds may be used flexibly for tuition, books and fees, or living expenses such as room, board, or travel. To be eligible, an applicant must be a woman registered in a full-time PhD/doctoral program who has completed at least one year of that program, or who holds a master's degree in an aerospace-applied field, at the time of application, and must demonstrate a superior academic record conducting research applied to aerospace engineering or the space sciences. Applicants must not graduate from their doctoral program before the following spring, and post-doctoral research programs are not eligible. Members and employees of Zonta International and the Zonta Foundation for Women (and their families) cannot apply. Candidates complete an online application — in English — covering their academic background, professional goals, and research program, with a deadline of 15 November.

  • Submit the online application in English by 15 November
