Side-by-side
Funding gap = published average net price − your annual budget − the scholarships/grants you entered. It is a planning estimate, not a financial-aid offer.
Why this search is different
Sticker tuition can mislead. We prioritize the average price students actually pay after grants and scholarships.
Add your budget and outside aid to see which schools may leave a manageable gap—and which could create heavy borrowing.
We translate typical graduate debt into a monthly payment and compare it with reported earnings.
Institution data comes from the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard. Figures are reported averages, may cover different cohorts, and should be confirmed with each college. “Best value fit” is a transparent planning score based on affordability, completion, earnings and debt—not a ranking of academic quality.
College search FAQ
Average net price is the average cost of attendance after grants and scholarships for federal-aid recipients. It is more useful than sticker tuition for early planning, but your own price can be different.
The score weights your estimated affordability at 35%, completion rate at 30%, median earnings at 20%, and typical graduate debt at 15%. It is a planning aid, not a ranking of academic quality.
The search uses the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard, which combines institution data reported to federal systems. Always confirm costs and programs with the college.
