About this scholarship

The #YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship at the University of Idaho is a renewable undergraduate scholarship for first-year international students who demonstrate a commitment to intercultural learning and exchange. University of Idaho states that the award covers 50% of tuition for up to four years of study and is available at the time of initial enrollment. The annual USD estimate is based on half of the 2026-2027 full-time international undergraduate tuition and fees figure, but the award is recorded as partial funding because it does not cover the remaining tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, health insurance, transportation, or personal expenses. Students must first apply for admission to the University of Idaho before the admission application deadline, then complete the #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship application. The application requires either a 500- to 1,000-word essay or a two- to five-minute video describing leadership skills and plans to promote intercultural learning and understanding at the university. The scholarship cannot be combined with Invitation to Idaho. Renewal requires at least 10 hours per semester of cultural sharing and community engagement through the International Programs Office, a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and at least 12 credits each fall and spring semester.
