Xavier University Merit Scholarships are renewable undergraduate scholarships for international applicants to Xavier University in Cincinnati. Xavier's official international admission scholarship page states that each admitted student is considered for a merit-based scholarship ranging from $23,000 to $30,000 per academic year. The awards are renewable for all four years of undergraduate study. They are partial funding because even the maximum annual amount does not cover the full cost of tuition, fees, housing, meals, insurance, books, travel, and personal expenses. Xavier bases merit scholarships on academic performance and a holistic review of the application and materials. No separate merit scholarship application is required. The same page notes that Xavier does not currently award institutional scholarships based on financial need and does not offer full-ride scholarships, so international students should budget for remaining costs. Students applying for fall entry should also apply by December 1 if they want to be considered for additional competitive scholarship opportunities based on major, service, diversity commitment, artistic talent, or other criteria.
