WGA Evans Scholars Program

About this scholarship

The WGA Evans Scholars Program is a four-year, full tuition and housing scholarship for high-achieving golf caddies with limited financial means. The Evans Scholars Foundation reports that the award is worth more than $125,000 and that 380 students received scholarships for the 2026-27 academic year. Applicants are judged on four central criteria: a strong caddie record, excellent academics, demonstrated financial need, and outstanding character. The current application is open to students at the beginning of senior year in high school and to college freshmen. Candidates apply through the linked official portal and arrange for the high school evaluation, transcript, Caddie Evaluation, and other supporting documents to be submitted. ACT or SAT scores are strongly encouraged for the 2026 cycle but are not required; the Foundation says scores can support its assessment of college readiness and university placement. Recipients attend an Evans Scholars partner university applicable to their state and participate in the program’s residential community, an important part of its leadership and graduation model. Applicants should also apply directly for admission to the relevant partner university or universities. The Foundation expects the online application and all supporting materials to be complete by September 30, 2026.

Eligibility

• Be entering senior year of high school or be a college freshman when applying
• Have a strong record of work as a golf caddie
• Demonstrate excellent academic performance and college readiness
• Demonstrate substantial financial need
• Show outstanding character, reliability, and work ethic
• Submit the online Evans Scholarship application
• Arrange for the high school evaluation, transcript, and Caddie Evaluation to be submitted
• Apply to the Evans Scholars partner university or universities designated for your state
• Complete the application and supporting materials by September 30, 2026
