Western Michigan University Global Education Undergraduate Merit Scholarship
Offered by Western Michigan University
About this scholarship
The Western Michigan University Global Education Undergraduate Merit Scholarship is a tuition scholarship for international undergraduates entering WMU for the first time. The Haenicke Institute for Global Education awards the scholarship to admitted international undergraduate students based on merit and the student's total estimated cost balance. WMU lists the value at up to $10,000 per year, disbursed in two installments for the fall and spring semesters, and the scholarship applies only to WMU academic tuition. It is partial funding because it does not cover full tuition, fees, housing, meals, health insurance, books, travel, or personal expenses. No additional scholarship application is necessary; students must complete WMU academic admission with all required application materials, and awards are made on a rolling basis while funds are available. Eligible students include initial F-1 or J-1 international undergraduates entering WMU after secondary school or transferring from another post-secondary institution, including eligible undergraduate degree Pathway programs. WMU notes that it receives more eligible applicants than available scholarships, so meeting minimum criteria does not guarantee an award.
