Western Digital STEM Scholarship
Offered by Western Digital Technologies, Inc.
About this scholarship
The Western Digital STEM Scholarship provides at least 50 one-time awards of $5,000 to community-college students transferring into eligible bachelor’s STEM programs. Scholarship America administers the program for Western Digital Technologies and has announced that the next application will open in February 2027; the exact deadline is not yet published. Applicants must be full-time undergraduates at a U.S. two-year community college and plan to transfer for full-time enrollment at an accredited U.S. four-year college or university in the coming academic year. The intended degree must be a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, engineering, computer science, or another eligible science; agricultural, health, and life sciences are excluded. Students need at least a 2.7 GPA and must demonstrate financial need or hardship. Dependents of Western Digital employees may apply but receive no preference. Previous recipients remain eligible to reapply until they have received two Western Digital scholarships. Selection considers academic excellence and course rigor, leadership, school and community participation, the quality of the application and personal statement, and financial need. Applicants upload a complete transcript showing the student name, institution, grades, credit hours, and each course term. Awards are paid for undergraduate study and are not renewable. The official Scholarship America page will expose the application when the February 2027 cycle opens.
