We The Future Contest
Offered by Constituting America
About this scholarship
Constituting America’s 2026–2027 We The Future Contest invites students and adults to create original work about the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and civic principles. The contest runs from June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027. Awards vary by age and submission category: elementary winners receive $100 gift cards, middle-school winners receive $200 gift cards, high-school categories award $1,000 scholarships, and college and graduate or law categories offer scholarships from $2,000 to $5,000. College song, short-film, social-media-video, and public-service-announcement winners can receive $5,000; team prizes are divided among team members. Student winners are also invited to a fully covered Winner Mentor Trip scheduled for 2028. Eligible formats vary by level and include poems, holiday cards, essays, STEM projects, songs, artwork, short films, social-media videos, public-service announcements, speeches, and lesson plans. Entries must respond to the official 2027 prompt and follow the detailed length, format, permission, and licensing rules for the selected category. Constituting America expressly prohibits artificial-intelligence assistance and screens entries with third-party software. Judges consider adherence to instructions, originality, accuracy, presentation, and category-specific effectiveness.
