Wayne County Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship

Offered by Wayne County Foundation and Lilly Endowment

About this scholarship

The Wayne County Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship covers full tuition and required fees for four years of full-time bachelor’s study at an accredited public or private four-year college or university in Indiana. It also provides $900 each year for required books and equipment and connects recipients with the Lilly Scholars Network for leadership and professional development. The 2027 application is open through August 31, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Applicants must live in Wayne County, attend a Wayne County high school, hold at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA at the end of junior year, and graduate from an accredited Indiana high school by June 30, 2027. The online process begins with an eligibility screening and requires a Federal Student Aid Estimator report. Selection uses a published scoring rubric: academic performance, a future-plans essay, extracurricular activities and work experience each account for 20%; financial need counts for 15%; character and community service count for 10% each; and overall impression counts for 5%. A parent or guardian must certify the submitted application by the deadline. The award covers tuition-related costs, not housing, meals, transportation, or other living expenses, so it is classified as partial rather than fully funded.
