VPMA Statewide Scholarship

Offered by Virginia Pest Management Association

About this scholarship

The VPMA Statewide Scholarship offers renewable Spring and Fall support to students at Virginia colleges and universities whose study emphasizes the technical side of structural pest control. The Virginia Pest Management Association uses the program to encourage undergraduate and graduate students toward urban pest-management careers and to recognize research or extension activity that can benefit the industry. High school seniors may apply, but an award cannot be made until the student is enrolled at a Virginia college or university. All recipients must study full time. The application package includes the current VPMA form, a résumé or curriculum vitae, a one-page double-spaced essay explaining how the applicant’s studies, research, and work will contribute to structural pest management in Virginia, and two recommendations from faculty advisers or industry employers. Recommendation letters should address work ethic, progress in coursework and research, participation in industry training or conferences, and the structural-pest emphasis of the applicant’s work. The official page does not state a fixed award amount, so it is recorded as varying rather than using an aggregator’s estimate. Recipients provide VPMA with a written progress report at least once per semester and must later give an industry presentation, teach a VPMA training session, or write a technical article. Complete Fall packets are emailed to the association by August 30, 2026.
