Vincent T. Wasilewski Award
Offered by Broadcast Education Association and Patrick Communications
About this scholarship
The Vincent T. Wasilewski Award is a $4,000 Broadcast Education Association scholarship sponsored by Patrick Communications for graduate students studying broadcasting or another electronic-media area. Applicants must plan full-time degree work for the complete 2027-2028 academic year at a college or university where at least one department is a BEA institutional member. Individual BEA membership is not required, although applicants first create a BEA profile before entering the current online scholarship portal. BEA uses one common application and automatically considers each applicant for every award whose requirements they meet. A complete submission includes academic and personal information, media and other experience, a goals statement, transcripts from every college attended, and two recommendation letters on letterhead. At least one recommendation must come from a college or university electronic-media professor; the other may come from a professor or an industry professional. Selection emphasizes academic performance, professional potential, integrity, and personal responsibility. Current BEA scholarship holders cannot reapply in the year immediately following their award. Funds are restricted to eligible campus-account expenses such as tuition, fees, course purchases, and housing-related charges. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. local time on October 16, 2026.
