VCU Out-of-State Scholarships for International First-Year Students
Offered by Virginia Commonwealth University
About this scholarship
VCU Out-of-State Scholarships for International First-Year Students are four-year academic scholarships for high-achieving applicants who are not Virginia residents, including international students. VCU states that out-of-state students with at least a 3.0 high school GPA may qualify and that international first-year students can qualify for these out-of-state scholarships. Published award levels range from $10,000 to $15,000 for the first year and are renewable for up to three additional years. The scholarship is partial funding because it offsets the higher out-of-state cost but does not cover full tuition, fees, housing, meals, insurance, books, travel, or personal expenses. The GPA table lists $10,000 at 3.00, $11,000 at 3.25, $12,000 at 3.50, $14,000 at 3.75, and $15,000 at 4.00. No separate out-of-state scholarship application is required; students apply for fall admission as first-year students and are automatically considered. VCU's international undergraduate page states international first-year students who apply by November 1 are considered for first-year scholarships.
