UTA Terry Foundation Scholarship
Offered by Terry Foundation and The University of Texas at Arlington
About this scholarship
The UTA Terry Foundation Scholarship is a renewable last-dollar full ride for Texas high-school seniors entering the University of Texas at Arlington directly after graduation. It works with grants, waivers, and other scholarships to cover tuition, required fees, books, and reasonable on-campus living expenses; selected scholars may also receive a study-abroad stipend. Candidates must first apply to UTA and then complete the Terry application in Mav ScholarShop. UTA states that the application becomes available every year in mid-October and closes in mid-January, so fall 2027 applicants should monitor the portal beginning in October 2026. Selection weighs academic achievement, leadership and character, and demonstrated financial need equally. Applicants must submit the FAFSA, qualify for federal aid and Texas resident tuition, and commit to living in Terry-designated campus housing during the first year. UTA reviews applications and nominates finalists for a required Terry Foundation interview; the Foundation does not accept applications directly. Renewal can continue for eight semesters when scholars maintain full-time consecutive enrollment, the required semester and cumulative GPAs, annual FAFSA and aid review, conduct standards, designated events, and other Terry Scholar commitments.
