UTA Maverick Academic Scholarship

About this scholarship

The UTA Maverick Academic Scholarship is a merit-based award for new undergraduate students at the University of Texas at Arlington. UTA publishes the scholarship under its merit-based scholarship overview for new undergraduate students and states that all new incoming students are considered when they submit required admission documents before the scholarship deadline. No additional application is needed for merit-based scholarships. For fall 2026 admits, the Maverick Academic Scholarship offers up to $1,000 to $8,000 annually, or up to $4,000 to $32,000 over four years, based on meeting renewal requirements. Spring 2026 awards are listed separately with lower maximum annual amounts. The award is partial funding because it does not cover the full cost of tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, insurance, travel, or personal expenses. International applicants use the international undergraduate admission process and must meet first-year or transfer requirements, provide required documentation, and satisfy English-proficiency rules. Scholarship offers must be considered carefully because accepting an offer automatically accepts admission to UTA.
