USF Green and Gold Scholars Waiver Award

Offered by University of South Florida

About this scholarship

The USF Green and Gold Scholars Waiver Award is a four-year nonresident tuition reduction for strong first-year applicants entering the University of South Florida in summer or fall 2027. USF currently publishes an approximate value of $5,000 per year, or $20,000 over four years. It is not a general-purpose cash award. The waiver reduces only the out-of-state portion of tuition and fees for USF undergraduate coursework, and the amount credited in a term may fall when a recipient enrolls in fewer credits. There is no separate scholarship application. USF automatically considers accepted first-year students from the academic records and residency information used for admission. Students must complete the application, pay or waive the fee, provide the required transcript information, and submit the required test score by the January 15, 2027 scholarship-consideration deadline. Funding is competitive and limited. Recipients must remain non-Florida residents for tuition purposes, satisfy the university’s scholarship renewal standards, and continue in eligible USF undergraduate enrollment. The waiver ends if residency changes to in-state and cannot be stacked with another benefit that waives the same nonresident charges. USF sends award notices by postal mail and posts them in the student portal.
