USF Green and Gold Presidential Waiver Award

Offered by University of South Florida

About this scholarship

The USF Green and Gold Presidential Waiver Award is the University of South Florida's highest listed admission-based tuition waiver for non-Florida first-year students. It is worth approximately $44,000 over four years, with up to $11,000 applied each year toward eligible out-of-state undergraduate tuition and fees. The waiver cannot pay housing, meals, books, travel, or unrelated charges, and the amount credited may be lower when a student has fewer waivable charges. USF automatically considers admitted freshmen for this competitive award; there is no separate scholarship form. For Fall 2027, students must submit the freshman admission application and all required materials by the January 15, 2027 scholarship consideration deadline. The admission package includes the application, fee or approved waiver, academic record, and required SAT, ACT, or CLT scores. Recipients must remain classified as non-Florida residents for tuition purposes, enroll as full-time degree-seeking undergraduates, and begin in the first fall semester of admission. The award lasts up to eight consecutive fall and spring semesters. Renewal requires 30 USF credits each academic year and at least a 3.0 USF GPA. It cannot be combined with another award that waives the same nonresident tuition, such as USF's Grandparent Waiver.
