The USF Green and Gold Presidential Waiver Award is the highest listed international freshman scholarship option on the University of South Florida's official international scholarships page. USF describes the Green and Gold awards as out-of-state, merit-based tuition reduction waivers for a limited number of admitted first-year students who are not Florida residents. The Presidential level is listed at approximately $44,000 total, up to $11,000 per year. The award is partial funding because it applies only toward out-of-state tuition and cannot be used for housing, meals, books, health insurance, travel, or other cost-of-attendance expenses. It may pay less than the maximum if the student enrolls in fewer credits, and it is cancelled if residency is later updated to in-state for tuition purposes. USF automatically considers students for admissions merit scholarships when they submit and complete the freshman application, including application, test score submission, transcript submission, and fee, by the January 15 scholarship consideration deadline. No additional admissions merit scholarship application is required.

Eligibility

• Apply as an international freshman applicant to the University of South Florida
• Complete the application, fee, transcripts, and test-score submission by January 15
• Be admitted as a non-Florida-resident first-year student
• Be selected competitively based on academic records used for admission and residency status
• No additional admissions merit scholarship application is required
• Use the waiver only toward out-of-state tuition
• Do not combine it with another scholarship waiving the same nonresident tuition portion
