UPEI International Entrance Award Cycle

About this scholarship

The UPEI International Entrance Award Cycle provides entrance awards funded by the University of Prince Edward Island for international students joining UPEI from high schools in Canada or other countries. The official award page lists amounts from CAD $1,000 to CAD $3,000 and explains that students are considered when their applications are evaluated and admission letters are sent. Successful recipients receive a credit to their UPEI student account for tuition and fees. The award is partial funding because it is a limited entrance credit and does not cover full tuition, fees, residence, meals, books, health insurance, travel, or personal expenses. UPEI lists several review criteria: applicants should hold a valid Canadian study permit, show strong high-school academic achievement with converted averages between 90% and 100% or equivalent GPA, or rank among the top 5% to 10% of their class; participate in extracurricular activities; provide strong recommendations; show strong English-language skills; and demonstrate potential for future academic development, leadership, and contributions to global society. Because funding is limited, early applications are encouraged.

Eligibility

• Join UPEI from a high school in Canada or another country
• Hold or be eligible for a valid Canadian study permit
• Show strong high-school academic performance, usually 90% to 100% converted average or top 5% to 10% class rank
• Participate in extracurricular activities or relevant experiences
• Provide strong recommendations from teachers or instructors
• Exhibit strong English-language skills
• Show potential for future academic development and leadership
• Apply early because the number of awards depends on available funds
