UNO International Academic Excellence Scholarship

About this scholarship

The UNO International Academic Excellence Scholarship is a partial tuition scholarship for international undergraduate students at the University of Nebraska Omaha. UNO states that the scholarship funds partial tuition costs for awarded undergraduate students, starting at approximately $3,000 per year. It is open to newly admitted first-time and transfer undergraduate students, and all newly admitted eligible students are automatically considered after admission. The award is partial funding because it applies toward tuition costs and does not cover the full cost of tuition, fees, housing, meals, health insurance, books, travel, or personal expenses. It is renewable for five years or until the student receives a bachelor's degree, whichever comes first. The scholarship applies to on-campus courses only, although on-campus summer courses may be included at a prorated scholarship amount. Recipients generally need full-time enrollment in at least 12 credit hours unless otherwise approved. UNO also states that the scholarship cannot be combined with other tuition-remission-based scholarships. Because consideration starts after admission, the application route is UNO's undergraduate admission application, followed by review through the international scholarship process.

Eligibility

• Apply for undergraduate admission to the University of Nebraska Omaha
• Be a newly admitted international first-time or transfer undergraduate student
• Enroll in on-campus courses at UNO
• Maintain full-time enrollment of at least 12 credit hours unless otherwise approved
• Do not combine the award with another tuition-remission-based scholarship
• Meet UNO international admission and English proficiency requirements
• Renewal is available for five years or until bachelor's degree completion, whichever comes first
