University of Victoria International Entrance Scholarship

About this scholarship

The University of Victoria International Entrance Scholarship is an automatic merit scholarship for new international undergraduate students. UVic's entrance scholarships page lists the 2026-27 automatic entrance scholarship value for international students as CAD $15,000, one time, for students admitted with an A- or equivalent competitive admission average. International undergraduate students must normally be entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program at UVic, meet UVic academic and English proficiency requirements, be current secondary school students or graduates within the last two years who have not attended a post-secondary institution, and study at UVic on a Canadian study permit. Eligible international candidates are automatically referred to Student Awards and Financial Aid by Undergraduate Admissions after admission; there is no separate application for the automatic admission-average scholarship. International students studying outside Canada must send interim or final transcripts to Undergraduate Admissions so they can be assessed. The award is partial funding because it is a one-time amount and does not cover full tuition, housing, meals, books, insurance, travel, or personal expenses. Recipients must register and maintain the required full-time enrollment to receive funding.

Eligibility

• Be an international student studying at UVic on a Canadian study permit
• Enter first year of an undergraduate degree program at UVic
• Be a current secondary student or recent graduate within two years with no post-secondary attendance
• Meet UVic academic and English proficiency requirements
• Be admitted with a competitive admission average, generally A- or equivalent for the published value
• Send required interim or final transcripts to Undergraduate Admissions
• Register and maintain required full-time enrollment to receive the scholarship
