About this scholarship

The University of Vermont Presidential Scholarship is a merit award for admitted out-of-state first-year students, including international students. UVM states that prospective, first-time, first-year undergraduate applicants are automatically considered for the Presidential Scholarship through the admission application, so no separate scholarship application is required. Presidential Scholars receive a four-year, eight-semester merit scholarship ranging from $20,000 to $25,000 annually. The award is partial funding because it reduces the cost of attendance but does not cover full tuition, fees, housing, meals, health insurance, books, travel, or personal expenses. UVM selects recipients based on the application for admission and the highest academic performance. Most scholarship notifications are included with the admission offer. To renew the award, students must enroll in 12 or more credits per semester and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, with renewal eligibility evaluated at the end of each spring term. International applicants should follow UVM admission deadlines and submit required English-language evidence where applicable.

Eligibility

• Apply as a first-time first-year undergraduate applicant to UVM
• Be an out-of-state or international student
