About this scholarship

The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a merit-based scholarship for excellent international students enrolling in an eligible master's programme at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. It is worth between €6,000 and €25,000 for one year; importantly, it is a partial scholarship rather than a full ride, so applicants must be confident they can cover their remaining tuition and living costs. The UTS is aimed at the very strongest applicants — typically the top 5 to 10 percent of the graduating class at their home university. It is not available to Dutch students, current University of Twente students, or EU/EEA nationals, and it does not apply to master's programmes at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC). The scholarship application is a separate procedure from programme admission: you must first apply for and be (provisionally) admitted to a qualifying UT master's programme, then submit the UTS application within the relevant round. Results can take up to about eight weeks after a complete application.

Eligibility

  • Be among the best 5–10% of your graduating class
  • Be a non-EU/EEA international student (not Dutch or a current UT student)
  • Be (provisionally) admitted to a qualifying UT master's (not at the ITC faculty)
  • Be able to fund remaining tuition and living costs beyond the partial award
  • Submit the separate UTS application within the relevant round

Always verify amounts and deadlines on the official site; they change each cycle.
