University of Regina International Student of Distinction Scholarship: Tier 1

Offered by University of Regina

About this scholarship

The University of Regina International Student of Distinction Scholarship: Tier 1 is a high-value automatic entrance scholarship for outstanding international undergraduates applying directly from high school. The official UR International scholarship page lists Tier 1 at an approximate value of CAD $80,000 over four years, covering on-campus housing and a meal plan. It is not a tuition-credit scholarship, so students must still plan for tuition, fees, books, insurance, travel, and personal expenses. The award is partial funding for that reason, even though the residence and meal-plan value is substantial. All international students applying to an undergraduate degree program directly from high school are automatically considered; no separate scholarship application is required. Tier 1 requires a minimum early conditional or overall final high school average of 90%, converted to the Canadian grading scale. Renewal is tied to academic progress and course load: recipients must complete 30 credit hours per calendar year and maintain at least a 75% undergraduate GPA in the first year and 80% in subsequent years. Recipients also receive supportive programming such as immigration support, prioritized class selection, transition guidance, orientation, and social and cultural activities.
