University of Oklahoma Freshman International Scholarships
Offered by University of Oklahoma
About this scholarship
University of Oklahoma Freshman International Scholarships are automatic merit awards for admissible non-U.S. citizens attending secondary school outside the United States. OU states that international scholarships are based on the completed admission application and qualified SAT or ACT exam scores, and students must apply for admission by December 15 for consideration. Admitted students receive the highest scholarship for which they qualify and cannot receive more than one of the listed merit-based awards. For students entering OU in fall 2026, published annual awards range from $10,000 to $17,000: Award of Excellence at $17,000 per year, Distinguished Scholar at $15,000, University Scholarship at $13,000, Academic Achievement Award at $12,000, and Non-Resident Merit Award at $10,000. The award is partial funding because it lowers tuition costs but does not cover full tuition, fees, housing, meals, health insurance, books, travel, or personal expenses. Applicants may retake the SAT or ACT and send updated official scores through April 30. OU also reviews test-optional applicants holistically, with high school performance and academic rigor carrying the highest weight.
