The University of New Mexico Leadership Scholarship is one of UNM's international undergraduate scholarship options. The official international undergraduate scholarship page states that UNM offers competitive scholarships for high-achieving students and that all undergraduate applicants are automatically considered, with no additional scholarship paperwork required. The Leadership Scholarship is listed for undergraduates only and has an estimated value of $11,574 per year. The award is partial funding because it reduces tuition and education costs but does not cover full tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, transportation, miscellaneous expenses, health insurance, travel, or personal expenses. Eligibility shown in the scholarship table requires a 3.0 GPA on a U.S. scale in upper secondary or high school coursework. Students are automatically considered for the highest-value scholarship for which they are eligible, and international scholarship awards cannot be stacked or combined with another UNM scholarship. For best consideration, materials such as transcripts and English-language scores should be received by March 15 for fall admission or May 1 for spring admission.

Eligibility

• Apply for admission to a full-time undergraduate program at the University of New Mexico
• Hold or seek non-immigrant visa status, with preference for F-1 or J-1 student visa holders
• Have no prior attendance at UNM in the current application degree level
• Have a 3.0 GPA on a U.S. scale in upper secondary or high school coursework
• Submit transcripts and English-language scores by the priority deadline for best consideration
• Do not combine the award with another UNM scholarship
• Meet UNM renewal requirements each semester if awarded
