University of New Mexico International Leadership Scholarship

About this scholarship
The University of New Mexico International Leadership Scholarship is one of UNM's automatic undergraduate scholarships for international students. The official international scholarship and cost page lists the Leadership Scholarship for undergraduates with an estimated value of $11,574 per year. It is recorded as partial funding because it reduces the cost of study but does not cover the full cost of tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, transportation, miscellaneous expenses, health insurance, or other personal costs. UNM states that all undergraduate applicants are automatically considered for its generous international scholarships and that no additional scholarship paperwork is needed. Students are reviewed for the highest-value UNM international scholarship for which they are eligible, but awards cannot be stacked with each other or combined with other UNM scholarships. The Leadership Scholarship requires a 3.0 GPA on a U.S. scale in upper secondary or high school coursework. Students receiving an F-1 or J-1 visa must also document one full year of available funding before visa documents are issued, so scholarship recipients should plan for costs beyond the scholarship amount.
