University of Nebraska-Lincoln Global Laureate Scholarship

About this scholarship

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Global Laureate Scholarship is a merit award for international first-year and transfer students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and met the English-language requirement for unconditional admission. The scholarship applies only to international Nebraska undergraduate tuition. Its total value is up to $60,000 over four years, with recipients awarded $15,000 per academic year, or $7,500 per fall and spring semester, based on enrollment in 15 credits per semester; awards are prorated for lower enrollment. All international admits are evaluated for Global Scholarships upon admission through a masked, confidential, holistic review that balances objective academic achievement with a final academic review. Students do not submit a separate Global Laureate application. Fall admits must be admitted and pay the enrollment deposit by May 1, while spring admits must do so by December 1. Separate English proficiency deadlines also apply: July 15 for fall and December 1 for spring. The award is partial funding because it offsets tuition only and does not cover fees, housing, meals, insurance, books, travel, or personal costs. Renewal requires a 3.000 cumulative GPA and 24 completed credit hours each academic year.

Eligibility

• Be an international first-year or transfer applicant to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
• Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement in admission review
• Meet the English language requirement for unconditional admission
• Be admitted and pay the enrollment deposit by May 1 for fall or December 1 for spring
• Enroll in Nebraska undergraduate coursework; award applies only to international tuition
• Maintain a 3.000 cumulative GPA and complete 24 credits per academic year for renewal
