About this scholarship

The University of Manitoba International Undergraduate Student Entrance Scholarship rewards academic excellence by international students graduating from international high schools and entering studies at the University of Manitoba. Students do not complete a separate scholarship application for this entrance award; the key action is applying for admission to any University of Manitoba faculty or school by the March 1 deadline. Eligible students must be international students in Canada on valid study permits, pay international tuition fee rates, and have achieved a minimum high school average of 85% based on the best five senior-level academic courses from the approved General Entrance Scholarship list, with comparable standards used for students from outside Manitoba and Canada. The value is set each year in tiers based on high school grade averages. The official page gives recent example values of CAD $1,000 for averages of 85% or higher, CAD $2,000 for 90% or higher, and CAD $3,000 for 95% or higher. To receive the award, students must enroll in both the upcoming fall and winter terms for at least 24 credit hours. The scholarship cannot be held with a University of Manitoba International Baccalaureate Entrance Scholarship or another award from the UM Entrance Scholarship program.
