University of Maine Flagship Leaders Commitment

About this scholarship
The University of Maine Flagship Leaders Commitment is an admissions-based scholarship under UMaine's Flagship Scholars Commitment Program for high-achieving international students. The official international scholarships page for fall 2026 through spring 2027 states that scholarship amounts are awarded at admission based on high school GPA and the rigor of coursework completed, and no additional scholarship application is required. The Flagship Leaders Commitment lists an available annual award range of $9,000 to $12,000. It is partial funding because the award does not cover the full cost of tuition, fees, housing, meals, health insurance, books, travel, or personal expenses. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA to qualify for admissions-based scholarships. UMaine says students who submit a complete admissions application by December 1 are considered for the maximum amount possible. Awards are renewable for up to eight semesters over four years, or 120 credits, whichever comes first, as long as recipients meet satisfactory academic progress, enrollment, and GPA renewal standards.
