The University of Idaho Invitation to Idaho Scholarship is an automatic tuition-rate scholarship for eligible new international undergraduate students, including transfer students. University of Idaho explains that the award reduces the annual international tuition cost by charging qualified students substantially less through a nonresident reduced tuition structure. For 2026-2027, the cost-of-attendance page shows full-time international undergraduate tuition and fees of $29,781 and Invitation to Idaho tuition and fees of $13,431, a difference of $16,350 for the year. The award is partial funding because it reduces tuition but does not cover living expenses, books, transportation, required insurance, miscellaneous costs, or the full cost of attendance. It is non-disbursable, meaning it appears on the financial aid offer letter but is granted as reduced tuition rather than cash paid to the student. Eligible international undergraduates are automatically considered when they apply for admission; no separate scholarship application or deadline is required. The scholarship cannot be combined with the University of Idaho #YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship, and it does not apply to online-only semesters or summer session courses. Renewal requires maintaining a minimum 2.5 U of I GPA.
