About this scholarship

University of Denver Merit Scholarships are undergraduate merit awards considered through the admission process. DU states that all students who apply for admission are considered for first-year merit scholarships, with eligibility determined by Undergraduate Admission from academic information submitted in the admission application. Published first-year merit scholarship amounts range from $15,000 to $40,000 per year. If awarded, the amount is fixed for all four years at DU. The award is partial funding because it does not cover the full cost of tuition, fees, residence, meals, books, insurance, travel, or personal expenses, and official DU materials for international applicants note that even high merit awards leave a substantial remaining cost. To remain eligible, recipients must enroll full time, defined as at least 12 credits per quarter, and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress. Students who will live on campus and receive a merit scholarship may also be eligible for a $3,000 Residence Hall Grant, but that is a separate benefit and not included in this entry's amount value.
