About this scholarship

The University of Cincinnati International Outreach Award is UC's primary undergraduate scholarship for international students. UC states that the award values range from $5,000 to $15,000 per year for students studying on the Uptown main campus, and from $2,000 to $4,000 per year for students studying at UC Blue Ash or UC Clermont. The award is partial funding because UC does not offer full-tuition or need-based scholarships to undergraduate international students, and the International Outreach Award can only be applied to the nonresident surcharge on the student bill, not the instructional-fee portion. There is no separate scholarship application; all international students offered admission are automatically reviewed based on admission application materials. First-year students must generally have a minimum unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for consideration, although GPA alone does not guarantee an award. Scholarship review is grouped by submission timing, with August 1 to December 1 applicants placed in the most generous review group, December 2 to February 1 reserved for exceptional students, and February 2 to April 1 based on funding availability.
