About this scholarship

The University at Albany Global Excellence Scholarships are undergraduate scholarships for incoming international students. UAlbany states that awards are based on academic achievement and other qualifications determined by the admissions committee. The maximum scholarship for first-year applicants is $20,500 per year, for a possible total of $82,000 over four years. Select transfer students may receive scholarships up to $9,500. The award is partial funding because it reduces the cost of attendance but does not cover the full published international student cost, which includes tuition, fees, housing, meals or living expenses, health insurance, books, travel, and personal expenses. Scholarships are renewable if the student maintains a GPA of 2.5 or higher and remains continuously enrolled as a full-time student at UAlbany while paying out-of-state tuition. International applicants submit either the SUNY Application or Common Application, with transcripts, English proficiency where required, financial statement, and related documents. UAlbany reviews applications on a rolling basis, with an Early Action deadline of November 1 and Regular Admission deadline of March 1.
