Unite2Uplift Breaking Barriers Scholarship

Offered by Unite2Uplift, Inc.

About this scholarship

The Unite2Uplift Breaking Barriers Scholarship awards three need-based grants of up to $1,500 to Colorado high school seniors and recent graduates pursuing college, trade, technical, or vocational education. The official sponsor page states that applications are open, are processed on a rolling basis, and ordinarily run from October 1 through May 31 of the academic year. Applicants must live in Colorado, be ages 18 through 24, have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA, and explain their financial need and how the award would advance their educational goals. A complete submission includes the downloadable official application, the current high school or most recent academic transcript, a typed essay of no more than 500 words explaining the chosen career or educational path, and two recommendation letters. Finalists may also be invited to a personal interview with the scholarship committee. The form asks for the applicant’s school and extracurricular background, intended institution and field, planned course load, financial contact, and a statement describing how higher education will be financed. Proof of acceptance or current enrollment is required before funds are released. Applicants email the filled, scanned packet and documents to the sponsor using the specified subject line. At least 70 percent of an award is paid directly to the educational or training institution.
