UMass Boston International Student Scholarships
Offered by University of Massachusetts Boston
About this scholarship
UMass Boston International Student Scholarships are first-year merit scholarships for international undergraduate applicants. The official undergraduate scholarships page says students are automatically considered for merit scholarship aid from the admission application, and that Undergraduate Admissions notifies recipients at acceptance. For incoming Fall 2026 first-year international students, the published International Student Scholarships range is $4,000 to $10,000 per year for students with a high school GPA of 3.3 or higher. Awards are partial funding because they reduce billed educational costs but do not cover the full international cost of attendance, housing, meals, insurance, books, travel, or personal expenses. UMass Boston also notes that international scholarships are not available to students entering through partnership programs. Renewal is for up to eight semesters of continuous study, normally requiring full-time enrollment, satisfactory academic progress, and a 2.8 cumulative GPA for merit scholarships. International applicants apply online using the UMass Boston Application or Common Application and submit required academic, recommendation, and English proficiency materials.
