UC Irvine Regents’ Scholarship
Offered by University of California, Irvine
About this scholarship
The UC Irvine Regents’ Scholarship is one of UCI’s most selective undergraduate merit awards. California-resident first-year applicants and California Community College transfer applicants are considered automatically from the University of California Application for Admission and Scholarships; UCI does not accept a separate scholarship application, recommendation, résumé, or supplemental essay for this award. Students seeking fall 2027 consideration must submit the UC application during the October 1 through November 30, 2026 filing period. Selection is based on a comprehensive review of academic preparation, grades, rigor, and the other information included in the admission application. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens, eligible noncitizens, or students qualifying under the applicable California nonresident tuition-exemption rules. In addition to an honorarium, Regents’ Scholars receive priority registration and other campus recognition. First-year awards may renew for three years beyond the initial year, while transfer awards may renew for one additional year. Recipients must maintain the required cumulative UCI GPA, make normal academic progress, and remain enrolled full time. UCI’s current public guidance does not promise every recipient a fixed $1,000 amount, so this record accurately describes the official monetary honorarium as variable.
