The Arc New York James F. Reville Scholarship
Offered by The Arc New York
About this scholarship
The James F. Reville Scholarship assists New York students in full-time education programs related to intellectual or other developmental disabilities. The Arc New York presents two $3,000 awards annually. Each award is distributed as reimbursement rather than as unrestricted cash: up to $1,500 may be claimed per semester, and recipients must document both full-time student status and eligible expenses. Funds must be used within four years of the award. The official 2027 application is live now and closes February 12, 2027. A candidate must be a New York State resident and already accepted into a qualifying degree program when applying. The application asks students to connect their education plans to future work in the I/DD field, describe volunteer, employment, or academic experience with people with disabilities, discuss a meaningful achievement, and analyze an important issue facing the field. It also requires one signed recommendation from an academic instructor. The letter must be written specifically for the application and appear on the institution or education program’s letterhead; noncompliant letters are excluded from review. Students currently receiving an Arc New York scholarship cannot be selected for an additional award and should not apply until eligible. All fields and supporting documents should be complete before the deadline.
