Texas A&M Terry Foundation Scholarship
Offered by Terry Foundation and Texas A&M University
About this scholarship
The Texas A&M Terry Foundation Scholarship is a last-dollar, need-based award that can cover up to the university’s full cost of attendance for an outstanding Texas high-school graduate. The stipend is calculated after other scholarships, financial aid, and the family household contribution, so each recipient’s amount differs. Students apply through the Texas A&M freshman application rather than a separate Terry form. By December 1, applicants must complete the admission and scholarship questions, the admission essay, a supplemental leadership essay, and the Terry challenges essay. The Common App is the university’s recommended route because it provides the most complete activity record. Candidates must also submit the FAFSA by March 15 and be admitted to the College Station campus by January 31. Texas A&M may later request a recommendation and transcripts before forwarding finalists to the Terry Foundation for a required spring interview. Recipients join a structured four-year community: first-year scholars live in Hobby Hall unless they are in the Corps of Cadets, participate in a designated course and mentoring, and attend Terry events. Renewal requires full-time face-to-face enrollment, annual FAFSA filing, a 2.5 cumulative and 2.0 semester GPR, and continued academic and program standing.
