About this scholarship
The Tennessee Tech Presidential Scholars Scholarship provides guaranteed institutional merit aid to qualifying new freshmen entering in Fall 2027. Current awards range from $3,000 to $10,000 per year and may renew for as many as eight semesters. The top $10,000 annual tier requires at least a 3.75 high school GPA and a 36 ACT composite or 1570–1600 SAT. Other published tiers begin at a 3.40 GPA and 23 ACT or 1130 SAT. Tennessee Tech does not use ACT superscores for this scholarship. The sponsor’s figures for Tennessee HOPE and HOPE Merit appear beside the university award for planning purposes, but those state awards are separate; the directory therefore records only the Tennessee Tech institutional scholarship and does not inflate it with outside aid. Applicants must submit the direct Fall 2027 undergraduate admission application by December 15, 2026. The university must receive the qualifying high school transcript and official test score by January 15, 2027, and scores or grades received later will not increase the award. Eligible students must have graduated from high school in the fall or spring immediately before entering Tennessee Tech; for Fall 2027, graduation must be after November 1, 2026. Renewal requires enrollment in at least 12 credit hours and a cumulative 3.0 Tennessee Tech GPA by the end of the third semester and each semester thereafter.
Eligibility
- Apply as a new freshman for Fall 2027 admission to Tennessee Tech
- Graduate from high school after November 1, 2026 and immediately before entering the university
- Submit the admission application by December 15, 2026
- Have at least a 3.40 high school GPA
- Have at least a 23 ACT composite or 1130 SAT; ACT superscores are not accepted for eligibility
- Ensure Tennessee Tech receives the qualifying transcript and official score by January 15, 2027
- Enroll in at least 12 credit hours while receiving the scholarship
- Maintain a cumulative 3.0 Tennessee Tech GPA by the end of the third semester and thereafter for renewal
