Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP)
Offered by Swedish Institute (Government of Sweden)
About this scholarship
The Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP) are awarded by the Swedish Institute, on behalf of the Swedish government, to ambitious global professionals from a defined list of about 34 countries to pursue a full-time, English-taught master's degree in Sweden. The scholarship is comprehensive: it covers full tuition fees (paid directly to the university), a monthly living allowance of SEK 12,000, a one-off travel grant, insurance against illness and accident, and membership of the SI Network for Future Global Leaders. Around 300–400 scholarships are awarded each year. The process is tightly linked to Swedish university admissions: applicants first apply to up to four eligible master's programmes through universityadmissions.se as fee-paying students, then add those programmes to their SISGP scholarship application during the short February window. Beyond academics, SISGP places strong weight on demonstrated leadership experience — from current or previous employment or from civil-society engagement — so applicants must document their work and leadership history.
Eligibility
- Be a citizen of one of the ~34 SISGP-eligible countries
- Apply to an eligible master's programme via universityadmissions.se as a fee-paying student
- Be liable to pay tuition fees (not exempt as an EU/EEA citizen)
- Demonstrate leadership experience (from work or civil-society engagement)
- Submit the SISGP scholarship application within the February window
Always verify amounts and deadlines on the official site; they change each cycle.
