SUNY Oswego First-Year Merit Scholarships
Offered by SUNY Oswego
About this scholarship
SUNY Oswego First-Year Merit Scholarships are admissions scholarships for academically strong incoming first-year students, including international students. Oswego publishes two first-year merit levels on its scholarships page: the Dean's Scholarship at $2,500 per year and the Presidential Scholarship at $6,000 per year. The university says students from in-state, out-of-state, and international locations are automatically considered for these awards, and no separate application is required. These awards may stack with Go Oswego Awards or Go Oswego International Awards when the student qualifies. The scholarship is partial funding because it does not cover the full international cost of attendance, including tuition, fees, housing, meals, insurance, books, travel, or personal expenses. International applicants apply through either the Common Application or SUNY Application, submit transcripts and English proficiency scores, and provide financial documentation for admission and visa processing. Oswego lists January 15 as the priority date for fall scholarship and award consideration and November 15 for spring applications.
