Stantec Water Scholarship
Offered by American Water Works Association and Stantec
About this scholarship
The Stantec Water Scholarship supports a student enrolled in an engineering master’s or doctoral program whose work develops innovative, forward-looking solutions to water-treatment challenges. Stantec sponsors the award through the American Water Works Association Water Equation Scholarship Program. The 2027-2028 competition is currently open and closes November 6, 2026. The official current page does not state a fixed award amount, so applicants should rely on the amount displayed in their matched AwardSpring application rather than older directory figures. AWWA membership is not required. Applicants must be permanent residents of the United States, Canada, or Mexico and should use the common portal to show how their graduate study and proposed work advance practical water-treatment innovation. The program is competitive and merit based, with GPA used as part of scholarship review. Any required recommendation must be submitted before the deadline by an academic or professional reference who knows the applicant’s preparation; recommendations from family or personal friends are not recognized. Funds are paid directly to the school and may generally be used for tuition, books, laboratory fees, laboratory equipment, and conference registration. They cannot be used for rent, a stipend, or per diem expenses. AwardSpring matches the applicant to the Stantec opportunity after account sign-in, and late or incomplete applications are not forwarded for committee review.
