The Stamps Scholarship is one of the most generous merit scholarships in the United States, delivered through a network of partner colleges and universities in partnership with the Stamps Scholars Program. At most partner schools it covers up to the total estimated cost of attendance for four years of undergraduate study and adds enrichment funds that Scholars can use for academic and professional development such as study abroad, internships, and independent research; annual awards range from $20,000 to $98,000 (four-year totals average roughly $80,000 to $392,000 depending on the school). Selection looks for academic merit, strong leadership potential, and exceptional character, and the program welcomes students from all backgrounds and areas of study — financial need is not a consideration. International-student eligibility varies by partner school, so applicants should check the specific program. Applying is straightforward: you simply apply to one or more partner schools, and if you qualify you are automatically considered for a Stamps award at most of them (the majority do not require a separate Stamps application), though the deadline, award amount, and process differ by school and an interview (often several) is part of selection.
