SPALS Graduate Scholarships
Offered by Speech Pathologists and Audiologists in Louisiana Schools
About this scholarship
Speech Pathologists and Audiologists in Louisiana Schools offers two $1,500 scholarships for future communication-sciences professionals. Applicants must be U.S. citizens entering or continuing full-time master's or doctoral study in speech pathology or audiology at a Louisiana university. A verified cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 across all college coursework is required. The one-time award is intended for tuition, books, and supplies; recipients may compete again in another year but cannot receive the scholarship more than twice. The direct PDF must be typed and assembled with its attachments in the sponsor's stated order: statement of purpose, university acceptance letter, two recommendation letters, grade transcripts, and completed application. The form also asks about degree history, GRE score, graduate credits, expected graduation, other aid, honors, community involvement, professional activities, academic and career goals, and why the award would be meaningful. Every component goes in one envelope to the SPALS Scholarship Committee in Opelousas, Louisiana. Certified mail is discouraged because it can delay delivery. The packet must be postmarked by September 1, 2026.
