Sheltair & Avfuel Future Takes Flight Aviation Technicians Scholarship

Offered by Sheltair Aviation and Avfuel Corporation

About this scholarship

The 2026 Sheltair and Avfuel Future Takes Flight Aviation Technicians category awards two $5,000 scholarships to people starting or continuing aviation technician coursework or pursuing mechanic inspector authorization certification. This is a distinct technical-training track within the partners' six-award aviation program and has its own direct application. Applicants must show interest in aviation education aligned with aircraft maintenance or technician advancement and complete all required information. The form collects personal and contact details, certification and school information when applicable, an optional Airman's Certificate and résumé, work history, a plan for financing education, and two essay responses of no more than 1,000 characters each. The prompts ask why the applicant wants a general-aviation career, how the award would be used, and what industry challenge the applicant would improve. Selection is based on the essays, with special consideration for applicants facing financial hardship. Sheltair and Avfuel employees and their relatives are ineligible. Awards are paid jointly to the recipient and the selected educational institution, must be used for aviation education, and must be redeemed within one year. The application must be finished in one session by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on August 31, 2026.
