About this scholarship

The SFU International Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship is the international-student award within Simon Fraser University's Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarships program. SFU states that the USES program is for domestic and international high school applicants who can enrich the university community through academic and community contributions. The international scholarship is valued at CAD $140,000, paid as eight installments of CAD $17,500; in limited cases, an additional CAD $8,000 per term living allowance may also be offered to exceptionally talented students with demonstrated financial need. The award is recorded as partial funding because the base scholarship is not described as a full cost-of-attendance guarantee and living support is conditional, not automatic. Eligibility

• Apply to Simon Fraser University for the fall term
• Be completing final year of high school or have graduated in the past year without post-secondary enrollment
• Meet admission requirements for the primary SFU program choice
• Have at least a 90% average or 31 IB points excluding bonus points
• Demonstrate excellence in academic and extracurricular activities
• Provide two complete references by the supporting-document deadline
• Complete all admission To Do List items by SFU's deadline
• Submit the USES application when the scholarship cycle is open
