SevenDays Make a Ripple, Change the World Scholarship
Offered by SevenDays
About this scholarship
SevenDays' 2027 Make a Ripple, Change the World Scholarship is a kindness-action and essay competition for high-school seniors in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Five or more winners receive $1,000 for higher-education tuition. Each applicant must conceive and lead a kindness project that creates an ongoing positive effect in the community, drawing on one or more SevenDays themes: Love, Discover, Others, Connect, You, Go, and Onward. The application asks for an 800- to 1,200-word, double-spaced essay explaining what the student did, why the project mattered, how it affected the student and others, and what continuing “ripples” it is creating. The submission may include up to three photographs and one 30- to 90-second video, and outside information or quotations must be cited consistently. Judges consider community impact, originality, longevity, personal insight, and writing quality. The direct official form is open now and must be submitted by January 8, 2027—not January 9 as reported by some directories. Winners are expected to attend SevenDays' OTHERS day event on April 7, 2027 and may help publicize their projects.
