Second Chance of Florida Foundation Scholarship

Offered by Second Chance of Florida Foundation

About this scholarship

The Second Chance of Florida Foundation Scholarship provides a one-time $1,000 award to a Florida resident who can explain how a second chance has shaped, or is needed in, the applicant’s life. The active official application accepts high-school seniors, current college students, graduate students, and applicants pursuing an equivalent postsecondary path. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 current GPA and be accepted to or enrolled in postsecondary or graduate education. The form collects academic plans, proposed field of study, honors, community involvement, employment history, and information about financial aid already received. Its central requirement is a creative personal essay describing what “Second Chance” means and specifically how the applicant received or needs such an opportunity. Supporting materials include a current school transcript, recommendation letters from school officials, and SAT or ACT scores when available. The Foundation states that selection may consider financial need, academic merit, and acceptance into a postsecondary institution. Applicants complete and sign the official web form, including its verification and publicity releases, and may attach additional pages as needed. The sponsor does not publish a fixed closing date on the current form, so candidates should apply promptly or contact the Foundation at the listed Orlando office before preparing time-sensitive documents. The finished packet may also be mailed, delivered in person, or emailed using the submission information printed on the application page.
