About this scholarship

Seattle University Merit Awards are automatic undergraduate scholarships for admitted students, including international applicants who complete the university admission process. Seattle lists merit awards of $16,000 to $34,000 per year for first-year students and $10,000 to $26,000 per year for transfer students. All full-time applicants are considered for an institutional merit award at the time of admission, and no separate scholarship application is required for the core merit award review. The awards are partial funding because they reduce tuition but do not cover the full cost of tuition, fees, housing, meals, books, health insurance, travel, and personal expenses. First-year merit awards are renewable for up to four years, while transfer merit awards are renewable for up to three years, as long as the recipient remains eligible under Seattle University rules. Selection is based on the admission file, including academic performance and other materials required for admission. International students must also meet English proficiency and visa-related admission requirements. Since consideration happens with admission, the application path is the undergraduate admission application rather than a standalone scholarship form.
