Sciences Po Émile Boutmy Scholarship (France)
Offered by Sciences Po (Paris)
About this scholarship
The Émile Boutmy Scholarship, named after the founder of Sciences Po, is the institution's flagship award created to welcome the very best international students from outside the European Union to its undergraduate and master's programmes in political science, international affairs, and the social sciences. At master's level, the scholarship is a tuition-fee exemption of €18,500 per year for each of the two years of the programme (amounts differ for undergraduate study), substantially reducing the cost of attending one of Europe's leading social-science universities. To be eligible you must be a first-time applicant to Sciences Po, be a national of a non-EU state, have a household that does not file taxes within the European Union, and have been admitted to an eligible undergraduate or master's programme. The scholarship is awarded as part of the admission process: applicants must indicate that they are applying for the Émile Boutmy scholarship in the "Financial information" section of their Sciences Po application (applicants from French secondary schools follow a separate Parcoursup-linked route). Crucially, you cannot apply for the scholarship after being admitted or during your studies, so you must request it within your initial application — otherwise you are responsible for finding other funding.
