Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara Honors Scholarship Program
Offered by Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara
About this scholarship
The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara Honors Scholarship Program is a merit competition for high-school seniors in Southern Santa Barbara County. The 2027–28 cycle opens October 15, 2026, and complete applications and supporting documents are due November 15. The official program page describes the award as intended for students with unusually strong academic achievement, using a weighted GPA above approximately 4.2 as an example rather than a guaranteed selection threshold. Reviewers also consider rigor and performance in Advanced Placement, Honors, International Baccalaureate, college-preparatory, and dual-enrollment coursework. Applicants must meet the Foundation’s location and education requirements, be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or AB 540 eligible, and plan full-time attendance at a Title IV-approved undergraduate institution. Financial need is not considered for this program. A complete submission includes the online application, a current unofficial high-school transcript, and two recommendation letters, at least one of which must be academic. The Foundation’s checklist also calls for the applicant’s academic course schedule and any applicable test information requested in the current portal. After initial evaluation, a limited group of applicants is invited to interview at the Foundation office, with invitations generally sent in December. Applicants should use the exact Honors program page because the general and art programs have different criteria and application tasks.
